categorized notes?

Hi. I just switched over from a palm OS device to a treo 750 with windows mobile 5. I used memos on my palm device regularly and am very disappointed by the notes component of WM5. It appears that the categories that I've been using on my palm are retained in outlook on my PC, but when I sync to the treo, I'm unable to view them by category. Anyone have a recommendation on how to maintain the category view on my treo? I don't need any special notes features (e.g. formatting, bullets, etc. don't mean anything to me). I just want to be able to view my notes in an organized fasion like I did on my palm OS device rather than having all my notes appear in one gigantic list.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'd like to know as well, if anyone has any idea. The categorization of Notes is really essential to my daily PIM usage. And it's kind of disappointing that Windows Mobile does not have this feature, even in version 6.1

I think this can be accomplished with third party programs. I know its a drag. I use franklin coveys plan plus for outlook which is an outlook program plug in. It has expanded note taking capabilities. It uses a lite version of pocket informant. I use version 5 which is tied in to PI7 version 6 which came out is tied into the newest PI version 8. There are also programs like phat notes. There is one note mobile by microsoft which comes on the treo pro and is included with office mobile. I havent tried it but its worth checking out.

onenote mobile, though an improvement over notes, does not have the capacity for note categorization as well.

i'm trying out phatnotes. thus far, seems to be a decent replacement for palm memos. it's a drag, though, that such a simple stock app in the palmOS require 2 apps to be replaced in windows mobile (i.e. phatnotes and phatnotes for outlook)

my maiden journey into the world of windows mobile continues...
