Need help with ActiveSync BT connection - Treo Forum

Hi - I am a newbie to the board and here goes my first post. I have a Treo 700 with 1 gig SD card and a new Iomega BT USB adapter that installed easily enough. My Treo sees my laptop and vice versa. However, I cannot get them to make an ActiveSync connection. Spent ~6 hours fussing with ports etc but no go. Direct plugging the cable in works fine nut I really want the BT if I can. ANy help much appreciated!

I found this:

ActiveSync via Bluetooth will not start if the AS is set to MANUAL.

I am looking at ActiveSync on botht the computer and Treo and don't see a place where it can be set to manual (or changed from manual 8) ). Where is it located. Also it sure seems like its a COM issue from the error messages I keep getting.

Hi TazUK. I looked in my RAM post but did not see your post/guide. Where is it located.

Kimmy - I tried the GeekZone Guide and I still cannot get it to go. Even put the BT USB on another desktop and same thing - the Treo knows the computer is there, the computer knows the Treo is there but they won't make a connection and sync on ActiveSync. Maddening.......

Ok, yeah....that was my fault. I merged the two threads and included your reply, but when I went to delete the redundant post, the whole thread disappeared
