Activesync problem with repllog.exe - Treo Forum

Before I get started, first let me say what a great resource this board is. I've been lurking here for some time, but this is my first post as a Treo newbie.

I just had to get a replacement 700wx(Sprint) because there was a problem with some key functionality on the original one. The original one was syncing just fine, but the new one will not sync. I get the following message: "a problem has occurred with repllog.exe."
I have Activesync V4.5 and firewall is off. OS on my laptop is Windows XP/pro; no third party software on this phone at all.

Any ideas?

How are you trying to sync? usb? Bluetooth?

I just upgraded to a Treo Pro from my old faithful Treo 680 that was worn out (physically). Keypad and functions are going.

I have not been able to sync my laptop, XP Pro, just about everything turned off that I can find (firewalls, other programs, etc). On occasions, out of the blue, I get the error message "repllog.exe won't run fm phone". I have 5.1 on my Treo Pro, running 4.5 ActiveSync and it never "finds" the phone (on USB link). I had to load the software from my laptop that sees the phone as disk "E" so the two are connected (I later loaded from the web). I did a soft reset (remove battery) to no effect. Reloaded software, etc. repllog.exe is not on installed on the laptop anywhere. While I like a challenge, I really need to get my phone working with all my data, which I have installed in Outlook but not sure how to like that with the phone. Its not like I travel alot (127k miles this year so far) so I need to get this puppy working. Ideas anyone?

I am assuming you mean 6.1 not 5.1 for the windows mobile. I have had only a few problems with getting a connection for active sync those have been cured with a soft reset. Are you using the cables that came with the pro? It may be a bad cable. I have a cradle purchased from treonauts store, and a sync n charge cable and a usb car charger body (it does not work with my pro) I haven't had problrems with the cradle (mobi) Try jostling the plug in the usb port. Have you tried rebooting the computer?
