Calender Time Synch Issues

Hello all.

I am using my 700wx to synch with our Outlook 2003 server in the office via the net using EVDO. All works well as far as email, contacts, notes. But when I add an item to my Calendar in Outlook, when it synchs to my Palm the time is always an hour off.

I do not see any embedded DST settings but this keeps happening.

i.e. If I put Meeting Monday - Main Confrence Room. 9am-12pm it will come through on the 700wx as 10am - 1pm. And vise versa when adding to Palm and synching to servers.

Does anyone have a fix or suggestion as to why this keeps happening? It is rather annoying when you think you are early to an appointment and you realize you are instead late.

Any help is apperciated.

Thanks,
Matt W.

Did you install the DST patch for your phone? It can be found here.

Worked like a charm! Thanks a bunch!

I swear I remember looking this up and Sprint told me that my phone already had the patch installed. Obviously not. Thanks again!

Unfortunatly I have another issue coming up. Having the usual lock-up issues, whenever I reboot the phone, the time is off again and I have to re-install this patch. Is there a reason it is not permanent? And how can I fix it?

As always, any help is apperciated. Thanks.

When you say reboot, do you mean soft reset or hard reset? The patch is just that, a patch, so it isn't built into the ROM. If you hard reset, all the info you've added (including the patch) will be deleted. This also goes for the camera and security patches.

A soft reset. I either take the battery out for a min or touch the reset pin. Not a full reset.

The time on the phone is always right since as you said, is set by the carrier. But for some reason as I stated in the first post, there is some kind of discrepency between my phone and the Exchange Server in the office. The times are not the same although it appears so.

The DST patch fixes this issue until I reboot the phone. All of the times are a match on Outlook and on the PDA. But after the reboot, regardless of carrier time, the phone is out of synch again.

Hmm..when you resync with the Exchange server after your soft reset, is everything still screwed up?

Yes, my phone AutoSynchs with the Exchange server very frequently throughout my peak time setting of 7am - 5pm. About every 10-15 minutes.
