| I made my first post! ![]() | Can't make first connection between PC & Treo 750 Hi, I have just bought a treo 750. I have installed the active synch software, but when i connect the treo to my pc (windoes XP), via the USB synch cable, a windows wizard starts titled 'Install New Hardware'. I ignore the windows wizard and try to get Active Synch to connect with the handset, but it fails to recognise anything. I then follow the wizard, it searches for software to install the new detected hardware (i.e. the treo) but does'nt find anything, even though the cd that came with the phone is still in the D drive. This leaves me with no connection via the USB cable. Do i need to download some additional software/drivers, which will install the handset onto my laptop?? I have tried on several occassions, removing all the treo related software and re-installing, but this has not resolved the problem. Can anyone help? Thanks Chris. |

![]() | Problems here as well. I have a Treo 750, Windows Xp, Outlook 2003, Activesync 4.5 and....when I first install Activesync, it syncs fine. However, after the first sync, it refuses to sync again. This is the error message I get: ![]() The active sync help is useless. I thought it might be something to do with mismatching contacts, so I tried to have it only sync tasks and appointments, but the story was the same. Initial sync was good then I would just get the error message after that everytime. Anyone else dealing with this problem as well? |

| Regular Contributer ![]() | Lucky....did you upgrade from another Treo? I had this problem as well, but Activesync CS had an answer for me. What I had to do (and even if you did not upgrade, you may want to try this) is click on File, and delete connection (maybe not exact wording) it will give you a message that may sound un-nerving, but click through it. After that, plug in the Treo...this should start a fresh sync attempt, and ask what you want to sync (setup basically) when you get through the setup, it will ask if you want to combine information, over-write Treo with PC info, or vise-versa, click on combine. Hopefully this works for you....good luck, let me know how it goes. |
