In an attempt to replace my wife's aging Treo 600 phone with a Centro on the Sprint network, getting the $99 price is going to take some smooth talking. (Treo 600 is available -- make an offer) I spent an hour+ on the phone today in an attempt to figure out how to do this; Sprint phone reps don't know.

First, the online website would only allow me to get a price of 149.99 (after rebates,etc) ... and I assume that didn't include the tax, shipping and activation. Having upgraded before, I played the 'climb the ladder' game with the customer service 'Indians' (no offense but they were from India) who made me spell the name of the phone: C-E-N-T-R-O. I almost blew my top after the first 45 minutes of this terrible long distance (or phone problem) connection and eventually was tranferred just to start the entire process over with a new rep. I think I might have convince them to send me an Onyx Centro (no red yet) with a $200 discount with a new two year contract (grrr). The full price $399 plus tax, will appear on my account and only when I activate will I see the $200 discount??? (I think) The box should have the $100 rebate to be sent in. I talked them out of activation but had to pay $12 in shipping ... and sign away my first born. I tried to get them to honor the Palm email 'perk' of a 12volt charger ... but don't think they can do that, but it wasn't a deal breaker.
