![]() | 650 to 750? I have had a 650 with Cingluar for two years and have been happy with it. I am trying to decide whether to upgrade to the 680 or the 750. Obviously the issue is Palm or Windows. I would llike to know whether anyone made this upgrade decision and why they chose the the 750 and how they like it compared to the 650. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The question is why do you want to upgrade, what are you hoping to get, knowing that would help us in advising you on which one to get ![]()

![]() | Thanks for the response, I should have included that. I travel expensively and want access to my office email, clear quality voice connections and internet access. I need to open PDF, Word and Excel attachments occasionally. I do not use the music options and rarely use the camera. So what I am looking for is an improved version of the 650. I do not know if I want to go to Windows or not which is why I am trying to determine which upgrade I should go with. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | There are other differences between the 680 and 750 other than the OS. The main one being the 750 is a 3G phone whereas the 680 isn't, so therefore viewing website, downloading emails etc would be much quicker on the 750. Of course this is dependant on you being in an area where there is a 3G signal. As far as doing those things you've listed both Treo's would be up to the job PalmOS is generally regarded as being easier to use than Windows Mobile although a lot is down to personal preference. Windows Mobile allows you to run several programs at once which is something the current version of PalmOS can't do.

![]() | I upgraded from a 650 to the 750 about two months ago. I would return to the Palm OS if that option was practical. The windows os is not as easy/intuitive as Palm os. Windows also gets hung up too frequently. I have to do a soft reset almost once per week. The best software is still made for Palm, although that can change over time. I do like the voice clarity of the 750 (Cingular), how it fits in the hand. But, on balance I wish I could have the 750 with the Palm OS. Unless there is a compelling reason, I would stay with the 650. I wish I had done so. Good luck. |

![]() | 650P to 750 and I'm quite happy I was really worried about switching to the 750 Windows based phone. I'm glad I made the switch. It sounds like you use the phone for business mostly? I use it for business and a bit of fun. I wanted faster internet, and i got it. I liked the Palm layout, but having grown up with Windows I didn't miss a beat and am quite comfortable with the Windows. I think I prefer the Windows format. As far as the phone, i gave my 650 to my brother. When I pick it up now, it feels like a brick. The sound quality and reception are better with the 750 as well. The voice command/dialing feature works great and is really awesome. I doubt you will regret making the upgrade. I continue to be very happy after several months. |

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | I just upgraded from the 650 to the 750. Mountains of difference between the two. I reallydon't have a preference between Palm and PPC, but the ease of making a call, looking up contacts, email and several other factors have made this one of the best "techy" decisions I've made in a long time. I truly love my 750 and it's become much more of a tool for me, versus just a phone and pda. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | I upgraded from the 650 Cingular to the 750 about 4 months ago. I was concerned about past problems with active sync from Casio e-200 and HP Journada 567 days but no problems at all in that area. I have had palm os and wm devices and while palm os is simpler and works well its dated and has limitations. I really like the 750 even though I am not in a 3g area. I just read where ATT has bumped up the speed of their EDGE service. Palm OS vs WM is kind of a personal preference thing. But like I said I have been pleased with the 750 I think its a big improvement on the 650. Better call quality better device IMHO. |
