| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Hello, I've had a Treo 700p from Verizon for about a month now. About 10 times, when I've tried to wake it from sleep by pressing the red power button, it won't turn on at all - the screen doesn't light up or anything. If I remove the battery and re-insert it, the Treo turns on and works fine after that. It's just a pain to have to take the Treo out of the case, wait for it to startup from scratch, etc. Has anyone seen this before? I'm a little suspicious of the AutoOffExtender program I installed...Other programs installed are CardBkup, GoogleMaps, KDIC, SuperMemo, and TreoAlarm. Thanks! |

![]() ![]() | i personally don't know of any problems that the listed programs would cause, but if i were you i would reinstall those programs one by one to see if the actions made by your treo are caused by that particular program. sometimes problems are cleared up by using dbScan, but that's more intended for datebook/calendar apps. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Another question, do you have your Cardbkup software set to run in the background? Sometimes this can cause lag due to it switching from backup to normal operations.

![]() ![]() | Hi Jemonat, Sounds like a classic debugging situation. Rather than have you do the brute force method (uninstall everything and put it back on one by one)... I'm betting its something that gets triggered by a system event - like an alarm or profile switcher or anything which use system hooks to generate events for itself. The super short cut is to install TrackerDog and make sure everything is up to date. The regular short cut would be to remove all those types of apps (a lot better then hard resetting) and every day, put one of them back on. Thats a pain I know and you could shorted the process as long as you ensure the phone goes into power saver mode for a few hours AND at least one event is triggered during the power save cycle from the app you want to test. You may find that you've got two apps that somehow tell the system to do two opposite things simultaneously... AutoOffExtender got updated on Oct 12th just in case you got it from an older source and yes I would be suspicious of that too in which case an ultra double super shortcut would be just uninstall that app and see if things improve... I'd do that first. ~ Steph

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Thanks! Thanks for the input all! I'll try removing programs and see if that fixes it. I don't have CardBkup running in the background, but maybe some program is running when I hit the power-on button, so that causes the Treo to take many seconds for the screen to light up... Thanks for the tip on TrackerDog too, that's handy! Jeremy |

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | I just got a 700p last week from Verizon, and I'm having similar issues, even without any 3rd party software installed. It seems to be less stable when the phone is on, or possibly especially when I've accessed the web and the little gray arrows still show ... I'm wondering if powersave conflicts somehow with broadband access and freaks it out? anyway... I was wondering if you figured out your issue? thanks |
