SD card for Treo 680

I am about to upgrade to the Treo 680 and want to get a SD card to suit. I understand that the 680 will take a 4GB card, does anyone know if an 8 or 16 card is compatible without having to touch the rom etc. Thanks

8 Gigs will work, but the 680 will only register it as 4, if I remember correctly.

I thought there was a SDHC driver update here on the forum somewhere. If you use the search function, it may give it to you. Let me search as well.

I think I read somewhere, well there are 40-some pages in the Treo 680 section that some types don't work well...did I misread or is that a fact? Better be safe then sorry and by an uncompatible SD card.

Everybodys right!

They will accept the larger SDHC format cards (8 and 16 gig), but there are some that do not work well. Do your research before buying. There are several people around who have the larger cards, and they are working fine for them (Andrew is one of them). You don't need a new driver for the 680.

That said, the device will only "see" 4 gig. The entire card is available, but the device only "sees" the first 4 gig. If you have an 8 gig card, and you fill it to 4 gig, it will show it to be full, but you really have 4 gig left, and so on.

That's so odd, I really wish they'd fix that limitation.
