Arrow WIFI card and memory card interchange

I have just bought a 700w, and I've searched everywhere, but I'm confused.
If I buy the wifi card, this presumably means I have to take out the memory card to use it? This seems like a horrible inconvenience. What if need something that's on my memory card (say mozilla for example) and I want wifi?!?!?
Is that how it works? Does anyone have any thoughts they think I'd find useful on or around this topic?
BTW: I am not buying the data plan. I have my reasons ($45/m? yeah right), I'm not here to discuss that)

Sorry, it's just not explicitly specified anywhere how the wifi card is used.
Thanks.

Thadanator, Congratulations on becomming the 9001st member of treonauts!
Nice to have you with us.
Although I dont have a WiFi card, I do have a 700wx. I don't see how you could use two cards in the same slot. You would have to remove the expansion card in order to insert the WiFi card. Someone else might have some creative solutions though. Many people share your situation with the data plans.

First, welcome to Treonauts Thadanator!

eclair is correct, you do have to remove the memory card to insert the wifi card. I have been hoping for a wifi card that includes at least 256 megs onboard, so you can have some memory there. Or even better, have a micro SD slot on the wifi card so you can add however much memory to it.

SanDisk used to make something called the SanDisk Connect which was a combined Wi-Fi and 256Mb SD Card, seems to be discontinued now

There's also the Eye-Fi card although it's not clear as to whether it will work like a standard Wi-Fi card

Just found the answer in their help section

Quote:

Will the Eye-Fi card make my Mobile PC (Pocket PC) or Smart Phone Wi-Fi enabled?

The Eye-Fi Card is a wireless memory card for your digital camera. It is not a general purpose wi-fi interface for mobile devices.

They're still selling some SanDisk Connect 256MB SD/WiFi cards Amazon.com: Used and New: SanDisk Connect 256 MB + WiFi SD Card Although these seem to be from some kind or auxiallary vendors, the ones listed seemed to have a good reputation AND very good ratings on the product. Now, the bad news: the prices range from $149.00 to $189.00.

I did see if for sale at some places but it's not listed on Sandisk's website which makes me think it's been discontinued
