![]() | 8gb cards reading as 4gb Hello! My first post. I read from another poster how to get the treo 700p to read the 8gb card...I have installed the proper software/drivers, etc. The previous post stated that it would read that there is only half the amount of space than really exists on an 8gb card, but "don't worry, it's just a reporting problem". I have found out that it is not just a reporting problem, and the card really only is holding 4 gb, instead of 8. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance |

![]() | One more piece of information...I see that if I use the card reader on the computer, it will indeed load up a full 8 gb. But...when syncing treo with computer, it will only use and read 4gb of space. True? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Its a problem with the way the deviced displays the free memory. Palm only officially supports up to 4 gig cards, so the max that it will show is 4 gig. You still have access to the full 8 gig, it just won't show it. For example, if you have 2 gig used you will see 4 gig available, but if you have 4.5 gig used you will see 3.5 available. Hope this helps! ![]()

![]() | I have found that this is true...but only if I manually load the info using a card reader from the computer. If I am trying to sync using Missing Sync, it will only sync until 4 gb is used, and then it stops! |

![]() | Partitioning the card? I have the same problem on teh 700wx, the system will not sync to the full 8GB which is a problem if i want to convet files like music. If i just drop the files onto the card from teh PC they are not formatted correctly for the treo and if i try to sync it to allow for formatting it will only sync the first 4GB. Going through window media player on the PC has the same issue. Is it possible to partition the card like a hard drive so it comes up as storage card 1 and storage card 2? Or is their a way to "manually" convert the files to the windows mobile format. |
