![]() | 4 Gb Cards for 700p I know this has been gone over a zillion times but I don't seem to yet understand if a 4Gb card will work in the 700p. In the Treonauts review of the 680 it is alluded to several times that you can finally use the 4Gb card. That says to me that it can not be used in the 700p!! Am I misunderstanding somethimg here??? I'm looking at the SanDisk and DaneElec cards. I prefer the SanDisk as I now have 2-2Gb and 2-1Gb cards from them that have given me ZERO problems for more than a year and a half. I know they aren't the cheapest but price is not a factor for me, I want the card that will work the best. Also need to know the difference between SD and SDHC cards and which one will work in the 700p. I hope someone can clarify this for me. Thanks |

![]() | Experience with 4Gb cards Thanks Brandon. I checked the blog and it answered almost all my questions. I would like to hear from people that have actually used 4Gb cards to find out how they worked in the 700p! Did the 700 recognize and read them? Was data transfer fast or slow? Would you recommend the card or defer to a different brand? Was the purchase price right? How tall is the Empire State Building - True or False? This is worse than a police interogation! Thanks in advance for your answers. ![]() |

![]() | 4GB Opinion and Solution I purchased a 4GB Sandisk Ultra SDHC card. My Treo 700p wouldn't even recognize the card was inserted. I found a "hack" at Treo 8GB HDSC Memory Card Great On My 680 + Hack For Treo 700p | Treonauts. After following the directions, my phone easily recognized the card and I quickly filled up 3GB with photos, general files, and videos. The transfer rate on the Ultra was no faster than the regular sandisk 4GB. I was using the USB cable to sync. Therefore I don't recommend paying the money for a faster card. Hope this helps. |

![]() | My 700p work fine with the cheapest 4GB SD card I could find -- MyFlash Turbo SD -- but I figured out that all the memory on the card is not the fast memory. Even though the 150x is printed on the SD card, its has a problem of an annoying delay on my Treo. For example, deleting a photo takes 5 seconds, recording audio with CallRec will skip like an old time vinyl record every 8 seconds or so. I put the 1 GB Kingston SD card back in and no problems. So ... buyer beware. We really should have a list of 4 GB brands that work well. ![]() |

![]() ![]() | Yeha somewhere there's a long thread about those 4GB monsters... I spent hours formatting and reformatting with different cluster sizes... URGHH. Bought an ADATA SDHC 8GB card for $45 which works perfectly in combinaton with the SDIO driver hack on my 700p. Put Navigator 6 with worldwide maps, email, few movies, camra pics and videos and my mobile MP3 sub set all with 1GB to spare! Can't be bothered with the 4GB issues anymore, almost pot luck what works and what doesn't, really annoying. I recommend you do the same. ~ Steph

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The problem with the non SDHC 4Gb cards is they don't conform to any standard. Normal SD cards officially go up to 2Gb, anything over that should be an SDHC card. People have managed to get 4Gb non mini-SDHC cards to work in the 750v but I've had no luck myself with them ![]()
