Seidio 4850T GPS problems

The past two times I tried to use TomTom 6/Treo 700p in the Seidio 4850T cradle I was unsuccessful from a "cold start". Once I reached my destination anyway, I left the cradle plugged in to the power source but took the Treo with me. When I went to drive home, the unit worked perfectly (it had been powered up all day-about 8 hours). I was afraid of running down the car's battery but that didn't happen. I unplugged the power source from the cradle when I got home from this trip.

The exact same thing happened in the evening. The software displayed "waiting for GPS device". However, it worked after being powered up, this time for about 3.5 hours, and I was able to navigate my way home.

Is the Seidio cradle defective or am I having a software issue? I have been using the new hardware and software successfully since about Feb. 1 when I purchased it, then this happens.

I have a Bluetooth GPS receiver but I haven't yet tried it with the Treo 700p. Of course there would be no way to leave it on all day in the car like I can with the Seidio cradle. Anyone else have any issues with this combination for GPS? Thanks in advance for any suggestions offered.

Seidio problems

I hate to bash Seidio but last year I purchased a cradle for my Dell handheld along with one of their GPS receiver's. I never could get the unit to recoginze or find the GPS receiver. After numerous e-mails and tests to finally discover that there was a problem with the cradle, Seideo told me I would have to have it exchanged through the dealer I purchased it from. The dealer told me I had waited too long to exchange it, so, neither the dealer nor Seideo would take it back and replace it. It's still in the box. Sorry to say I'll never buy anything from Seideo again.
