![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Welcome cooper2go, to Treonauts! I've not used the Blueant z9, and it hasn't been reviewed by anyone here. However, Amazon users rated it 4 stars on average and Cnet gave it an 8.4 which is reason enough to give it a try. I personally use a Jabra BT8040, which I really like, very small size but great sound, and of course the Aliph Jawbone is very very popular. |

![]() | Thanks for the wecome. How does the Jabra 8040 work with background noise? Here is the thing, I mostly use a bluetooth headset when I am in my car. I drive a MiniCooper stick shift so I can't hold a phone very well & drive. Also, there is alot of engine & background noise so it is hard to hear on the speakerphone. That's why I am looking for a new bluetooth headset. I have looked around the forum about the Jawbone, but I am reading that there seems to be problems with it staying paired to the Treo 755p when it is in standby status. If it weren't for that, I would just go with the Jawbone, but that does seem to be an issue with it. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The only time others have reported problems on the 8040 was when I was walking to the car on a windy day. Lets put it this way, I drove for over a month with a large hole in my exhaust and there is a gap in the door seal in my car, and no one has mentioned it while I was using the headset. |

![]() | Blueant z9 Hi all. Thanks for your welcomes & suggestions. I just wanted to get back to you & let you know how things went with this headset...............not good. I could hear everyone else pretty clear, but they could not hear me!! On several occasions when I called my husband, he told me I kept breaking up, and when I wasn't breaking up I sounded like I was sitting in a tunnel talking. So, I sent the Blueant z9 back & now I am back to square 1, looking for a bluetooth headset. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have the samsung wep 500 and I dont use it that much but have had no complaints with call quality or noise on calls. But I dont have a convertible and I only use it in the expedition while driving and at home if I'm doing something around the house. |

![]() ![]() | welcome cooper2go, I've tried a bunch of headsets with my 700p and my favorite is the Motorola H700. It's not new and you can get it cheap these days. It doesn't have noise cancellation but thats never been a problem. It has a little flip out boom which also turns it on and off so I have fantastic 'perceived' battery life and less social stigma form having a flashing blue light I can't possibly see stuck on my ear. My problem has always been pops, crackles and hisses heard by people I talk to. The H700 seems to work well with my Treo's arguably weak bluetooth performance at ranges up to 2 meters. So here's some recommendations that may sound stupid but some may work for you... - Keep the Treo on the same side of your body as the headset - Don't move it more than a meter away - Try to keep it well charged - Don't buy a fancy expensive headset if the main problem is the radio transmission quality (i.e hissing, pops and scratches) - Do buy a fancy expensive active noise cancellation if there's no radio interference but people can hear wind (not farting) and background noises Andrew on the blog love bluetooth headsets and seems to get most new ones (not the Z9 so far unfortunately). He always seems to get good connections with his Treos during out test calls so have a browse there too... Treo Bluetooth Headset - Treonauts Hope you find what you're looking for and please keep us posted with good or bad experiences they'll all help others doing the same search as you. Regards Steph

![]() | I looked at the review of the 8040 & it seems pretty good. But I do see that it doesn't have an ear hook, does it stay on/in your ear good ? |
