| Problems pairing Jawbone the sequel--any ideas? Phone: 700w on Verizon
I really need some fresh ideas here...
I had a Jawbone (that I got through some low-price leader on the Net) for about a month and lost it. Couldn't live without it and didn't want to wait for a new one to arrive, so I went to my local Verizon store and bought a new one over the weekend and let it charge.
Not wanting to take any chances with an embedded device ID confusing my Treo, I deleted the old Bluetooth connection and then tried to pair the "new" Jawbone with the phone. No dice. I rebooted the phone and it still didn't work. Rebooted the phone AND the headset using the little button in the middle slot--this makes sense if you have the headset--and still got nothing. Turned off Bluetooth connections on the Treo, rebooted, turned them back on and still have nothing.
I am at a loss. The Jawbone comes on and immediately does the three short tones (that indicate that the headset is not paired with the phone), and the phone is detecting other Bluetooth devices in the area, such as my PC and another cell phone on a desk near me, so it's not like I can point to either device as being the problem. (I should also mention that my first Jawbone occasionally had pairing problems, though a reboot of the Treo and a redection of the pairing always solved that problem.) I've gone to the Jawbone web site and followed every instruction/suggestion they have posted to the T and it's just not working.
Does anyone have any ideas before I trek to the Verizon store and make them give me a new one? Are there any differences between the site-neutral and the OEM versions of this headset? (Other than a verizon logo on the box, I can't see a single difference.)
Thanks in advance for any help!! |
