![]() | Headset for small ears? I've posted this elsewhere on the web, but thought I'd ask you guys: I am about to get a new cell and I am finally giving in to the Bluetooth headset craze. But, I haven't had much luck with the over-the-ear ones in the past. Personally I like my old-school wired one. It's nice -- kinda like a football coach's headset. I wear glasses (RX -- no contacts) and have small ears. I cannot tell from ANY photos online which units have earpieces that don't get jammed into your ear. That is, my ears cannot handle the "bud" style (like iPod headphones) and I am not a big fan of the Secret Service-type ear plugs either. My ears are rather small and both of those styles hurt. I am really looking for something like this (for the ear piece part): http://www.i-prodigy.com/images/head...Cosonic660.gif In fact, I currently have a Plantronics wired unit similar to this: http://www.plantronics.com/north_ame...50057/cat12200... So something like that but WIRELESS. Anyone using something like that? Discretion is not important for me -- it'll only be for car and house use -- not slick, on the go, cool business guy stuff :-) Also, I'd like to spend in the $50-$60 range. Again, nothing fancy needed, just comfortable for smaller ears with permanent eyeglasses. Thanks. --MLP |

![]() | I also recommend looking at the Nextlink AX2. They're inexpensive and just fine for my purposes. I use the Jabra ear gel because they're more comfortable than the supplied spring earpiece. You can find both on Ebay. |

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Jawbone rules! I hear ya with the "small ears" dilemma... At first, I went with the Palm Ultralight which has three different sizes of ear gels, but even the smallest size was painful after a while. It also refused to stay on my ear--even with the loop. I frequently had to fish the thing out of my cleavage while trying to drive (which I'm sure was an impressive and frightening site for others on the road) or figure out where I had flung it when I turned my head. This problem was exacerbated with sunglasses on. Fortunately, some "compassionate soul" at the TSA sought to relieve me of my pain, as I checked it in my luggage from Phoenix and never saw it again... Stole the whole thing, oversized aluminum case and all. (And can I just say.... "Ewww.") I did a lot of research on the comfort thing before ordering the Jawbone. I know it looks big and doesn't seem like it would be comfy or fit a woman's face well, but it really does--even with oversize sunglasses on. As a bonus, the sound quality is great. I've had it for about three weeks and I really love it. I have some minor quibbles about pairing it with my Verizon 700w--for some reason, it refuses to do so about once a week or so and I have to fiddle with the two to get them to play nicely together--but I'm sure it's user error and I probably just need to read the manual again. I would definitely check it out. |
