![]() | Problem with Treo 750v, tomtom navigator software and Emtac S3 BTGPS Hi All, Four months ago bought Palm Treo750 phone from phone supplier and then Tomtom Navigator 6 UK software & Gps package (Emtac S3 GPS) from another supplier. I have gone through setup and registered Emtac S3 GPS on phone and installed Tomtom software. When I start tomtom it says "no GPS device" even after i have re "paired". If I enter a route it will state "Searching for GPS device". In either case it never finds the Emtac. Also, after two minutes a screen flashes up to say "Your device will now be restarted to complete GPS configuaration. Continue" - after selecting continue it reboots the device and then goes back into tomtom software and comes up with exactly the same message after two minutes again, and again, and again...... I have contacted Palm, and Tom Tom and the supplier of the software/GPS package and I just get passed around from one to another only just thought to goodle problem on internet and found this forum. Any suggestions gratefully received. |

![]() | It is set up as "Other GPS device" and "COM0". On the phone when pairing with bluetooth it was "Ticked" to use serial port... I beleive we have tried other com port/device options within the Tomtom software. Thanks for speedy reply |

![]() | Problem solved After many hours fiddling around with this (and some valuable suggestions from Tazuk), I tried it with a Tomtom GPS receiver from another phone, paired it up and hey presto worked straight away. I have returned the Emtac unit for credit and can highly recommend the complete TOMTOM solution. Incidentally for business/frequent use I can highly recommend the Professional charger/windscreen holder for the TOMTOM Gps receiver which saves the fiddly turning on and off everytime the phone goes out of the car... and stops it sliding off my dash when I go round corners. Just stuck it up on the screen behind the mirror and ran the wire around the lining and dooor and connected it into a spare fuse.... dead easy. Thanks Tazuk for your suggestions |
