Bluetooth Headset and Voice Dialing

I'm a bit at a loss here. Am I correct in stating that there is no wireless headset voice dial solution for the Treo 700P? How long has the Treo line been out? And how long has Bluetooth been around? I'm not sure why I can't find a voice dial solution for my Treo 700P and my Jabra 500BT. Out of all the voice dial solutions I've searched I’ve only found ones that support wired headsets.

Where have I gone astray? Has any one else found a BTVD solution?

The Treo 700w has voice dial =and operation to almost the entire phone I have a Burgundy Jabra JX10 and I push De button and boom instant voice dial built in my Treo 700w he-he, poor Treo 700p user

I'm with you. I bought the BT 500 just because of it's voice dial capabilities just to find out that even with 3rd party voice dial software (trial download), the treo can't do it via BT.
I haven't found anything to work around that issue. So until a solution becomes available, I won't purchase the voice dial software.

As for right now I'm afraid the answer is no, there is no voice dial software that is compatable with a BT headset (at least that I can find). It doesn't make any sense to me either. Hopefully they will come out with some kind of solution soon.

I too have a JX10 and 700w but I'm unable to get the voice activated feature to work through the headset, please explain.

I recently purchased a treo 700p and wanted to use bluetooth voice dialing. When I noticed that none of the software supported bluetooth voice dialing, I wrote one of the software companies to ask when they expected to support it. This was their response....

Thank you for your email. Actually wireless headset support is already programmed into VoiceDialIt. The problem is that the programming interface in the phone does not work correctly, and thus our built-in support does not work either. Because it is an issue in the phone (operating system), there is nothing we can do further--Palm has to fix it. But they have not fixed it yet and have not given any indication as to when this might happen.


It would appear that treo users need to pressure Palm into doing when they haven't done up to now if we want bluetooth voice dialing.

Does anyone have any updates (official, unofficial, or otherwise) on this issue? Has Palm said whether or not they intend to address the problem?

My guess is they are not moving on it because of the work on the new Linux based OS.

I do agree that this is a croc of %^&($#@ as far as their customer loyalty goes. They keep this kind of 'update' schedule going and we may see them under a different company before too long. [/vent]
