Problems with Voyager 510 for Treo 700p - Treo Forum

I bought the Voyager 510 at a local Sprint store and I absolutely loved its look, how it felt, etc. but once I turned it off, I couldn't get it to pair correctly with my 700p. I could receive incoming calls on it, but when I made outgoing calls on it the 700p would recognize that it was turned on and wouldn't send the call to the headset. I could do a soft reset on the phone and it would work for a little while, but then revert back.

Palm's website says the 510 isn't supported on the 700p.

Can anyone speak to the issue? I see that the 510 is sold right here on Treonauts and specifically says its for the 700p. Is it worth trying again?

I've had similar problems but with other headsets (JX10 and Explorer 320) with my 700p...

I found that if I switched off bluetooth the 700 wouldn't see them anymore and i had to re-pair them, or like you noticed they would suddenly go off the reservation and require re-pairing for no obvious reason, it was too infrequent for me to discern a pattern.

For other reasons I did a hard reset on that 700 then paired it waiting a good long time (15 seconds) after it had found the device so the correct name came up.

Did have any more problems after that. Then got a brand new 700p again for other reasons but didn't have to do any of those shenanigans at all to get things working properly. Still get crackles though less frequently.

I have looked at a lot of reviews for BT headsets and had settled on the Voyager 510 until I read this post. What is the best headset for the 700P with a resonable price??????

I've had my 700p for about a year and still have not found a decent BT headset. Has anyone else noticed that the 700p has pretty severe BT problems and maybe it's the phone and not all the different headsets??
