| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Hello, I'm interested in getting Windows to offer a Serial Port connection to my phone over bluetooth. Right now, the phone is only offered Active Sync. The purpose is to attempt to get floAt's Mobile Agent working, which supposedly has shotty BT detection. I can offer an Incoming connection on the PC, and on the Phone, but neither can find the other, hence don't have the ability to establish an outgoing connection. Any help along any lines is appreciated! Thanks! Matt [specs] Microsoft Bluetooth Transceiver (with the Desktop Elite for Bluetooth). Microsoft Bluetooth Stack (latest). I think the PC may be the problem, as when the computer initiates the partnership, the partnership is established (only offering ActiveSync). But when the phone initiates the partnership, the phone prompts me to enter a passcode, but windows doesn't do anything. Weird. Last edited by brand; 04-10-2007 at 06:34 AM. | |

I made some progress when "updating" the bluetooth stack of the phone with the one "ported" from the 700wx (by hannip). The phone is now recognized, but it does not finalize a connection (with floAt's). You can, however, use it as a bluetooth modem. Any more ideas? Thanks, Matt

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think you're supposed to use Vista's replacement to ActiveSync, Windows Mobile Device Center. See here |

My main concern was getting Vista to offer a serial port, which it still doesn't (sort of). With the "new" bluetooth stack, the Bluetooth Modem (AT command interpreter) uses com4. It apparently is SPP (serial port profile). When setting floAt's Mobile Agent to serial, over Com4, it works! Sort of! It recognizes the device, but can't "connect" to it. I'm hoping that hannip has some answers, although I think he didn't really do much more than steal the 750's bluetooth stack; maybe he did do some coding. We will see. ![]() Thanks for your help and interest. Peace, Matt
