Question Palm Treo Ultralight Wireless Headset Review

Hi,

I love Treonauts reviews and I usually buy my accesories after reading your reviews. However, I have not seen a on hands review of the new Palm's Next Generation Treo Ultralight Wireless headset. I read some people don't like it at all and some others say it is the best. Have you actually used one? Could you write a review? After all it is Palm's flag ship headset. Now, I'm still using my cardo scala 500 from almost 2 years ago. I know a lot has changed in the BT headset world, but I do want to get a good one.

Thanks,

Al

Mini Review

I have been using the Palm Treo Ultralight Wireless Headset for about 3 to 4 month now and i love it. I used to have the Jabra JX 10 and the Plantronics 645 which the Palm Treo Ultralight Wireless Headsetis based off of. In comparison to the Plantronics 645 there is no comparison. When you turn on your palm headset it gives you 4 distinct letting you know that you turned it on as well as letting you know that it is being turned off. When it comes to connecting it to your device it will give you one short beep after you turn it on letting you know it connected to your device. After about 2 minutes of no activity it will give you a longer beep disconnecting it from your device to conserve battery on the device. to reconnect all you have to do is press the button once. and you will here the short beep again that connects it your device again. turning the volume up and down on the device is as simple as pushing the volume buttons on the side of the headset. to Mute the headset just press the 2 volume buttons at the same time. to answer or end a call just press the button on top of the device. Voice qulity is like no other. when i call people someone they dont even know that im on the headset. all in all i would highly recommend it to anyone.

if you have any questions just ask and ill do my best to answer.

Snoop, glad you like the ultralight because I just ordered it. Question, is it supposed to disconnect after 2 minutes or is that the problem all the 700p owners are having due to the phone? Does it state its supposed to disconnect at that time?

It does not state that it is supposed to do that but i found that if you dont want it to turn off again just next time it does turn off turn it right back on and it wont do it again till you turn it off.

I think that is something that some consider it to be a glitch and others a feature. But if it is a matter of just clicking on the button once and then it stays connected then fine. This might annoy others thought. I think my Scala does the same thing, but I thought it did that because it just lost connection.

Hi all,

Actually just posted this to another thread....

I had been using a Scala 500 w/my 650 and loved it, but started having connectivity issues as soon as I upgraded to my 700p. I finally switched to the new Palm Ultralight and so far haven't really had any problems. But keep in mind the volume can be REALLY loud if you have it cranked on both the Treo and the headset. I now find myself turning it down rather than the other way 'round. And just as critically, for someone like myself with small ears, the Palm is one of the most comfortable in-ear headsets I've found.

Happy Treo-ing!

I bought one about a week ago. The A/C charger part didn't work, so I had to charge it with the battery. It transferred the calls good, and the few calls I made had pretty good call quality. They didn't even know I was on it.

The things I didn't like were personal things, like the feel in my ear, and, maybe this being my first bluetooth headset, I felt a little weird wearing it. I was only planning on using it while driving, but, everyone's back to work or class now, so I'm not talking that much on the road.

Personally, I didn't like it, but as far as sound quality and connectivity issues, everything was great.

I just got my palm ultra light and am amazed at the upgrades over the Plantronics 640. First it actually stays connected to my 700p. Second, the sound quality is great. Third, the fact you can recharge it using your phone charger is cool. All in all I love it. I hope everyone enjoys theirs as much as I do.

I'm glad to read that the Palm Ultralight headset is working really good for all of you. Though it seems that recently a new Plantronics headset has come out that is supposed to replace the Plantronics 645. It is called Plantronics 655

http://www.howardforums.com/showpost...68&postcount=1

According to the reviews I've read so far almost everybody claims that it is better than the 645 since it is an upgrade. Has anybody tried it?

Thanks,

Al
