Avoid the Garmin Mobile 20! I bought a Mobile 20 navigation system from Garmin, because it looked like a useful accessory for my Treo 680. It promises a unified GPS system, windshield mount and hands-free calling capability.
When it arrived from their online store, it had absolutely no documentation: just the hardware and the SD card with the navigation application and maps. I got the navigation system to work, but I could never get the advertised hands-free calling to function. I have spent nearly a month now trying to get them to recognize that there's a problem, that I should get a manual, etc. After immense amounts of frustration, it now turns out that they know the hands-free feature doesn't work with the Treo 680 (even though they explicitly advertised it as compatible with this phone), and all they can offer is that they'll take it back -- without, of course, reimbursing me for shipping (either original or the return) or doing anything to make up for the time and frustration required to get them to admit their own mistake.
This seems to be a canonical example of a bad company, at least for Treo users. |
