GPS Bluetooth and Treo700wx setup

I have the GPT-801 with sirf-iii to use with tomtom 6. Now please bare with me as I am a newb to this stuff.

I partner the BT GPS to the treo and then proceed to run tomtom 6. From there I try to setup under another bluetooth device, it asked which com port. This is where I think the error is. how do I know which com port to pick? I've tried them all and still get no GPS device found. Do I have to set a com port on the phone itself? If so which com do I select?

Again this is all new to me.

When you paired the device did you go into COM ports and add a new outgoing port?

I use TomTom's own GPS reciever which works differently than the others so I can't say for sure but what I would think you do is, pair the device, go to the COM Ports tab, click on New Outgoing Port, select your GPS reciever then assign a COM port to it. I don't think it matters which one you choose as long as it's the same one specified in TomTom.
