| My Treo keeps resetting! Sometimes, it's while I'm running a program. Sometimes, I'm not doing anything at all. Either way, my Treo has a habit of resetting on its own...and often.
I've already had my first Treo replaced with a brand new one when I took it to Sprint, hoping they could fix my boot loops. The new one I got does the same thing! Fortunately, my last boot loop was a few months ago, and I haven't had one since, but I've still had a lot of spontaneous rebooting.
The first time around, I installed a lot of applications on my device, but this one doesn't have as many. I have the following programs on my Treo that weren't originally there:
- Facebook
- FlightStatus
- LiveJournal
- MoTwit
- TCPMP
That's IT. And I know that media players are memory-intensive, so I stashed TCPMP on my 4 GB memory card, along with all of my music and videos.
My suspicion is that the resets are due to a lack of memory on my device. I have plenty of storage space left (48M/62.8M on my device and 1.3G/3.6G on my card), but I have no idea what kind of RAM my Treo has. And is there a way to upgrade it?
I've also noticed that some programs don't close when I exit them. For example, Blazer almost always takes me to the last page I visited, and pTunes even keeps playing when I turn off my device! I suspect that that is also rather taxing on the memory. Is there a way to manually quit the programs, or do I have to do a reset in order to get rid of them? Curse the 755p's lack of a reset button!
Edit: While it says that my OS is XP, I'm currently transitioning between computers (I'm borrowing from someone else to post), so I can't even back up with a HotSync. So the boot loop errors would hit me even harder than usual were I to have one now. >_<
