Mine was probably branded for Cingular as that's the logo it has on it's body casing. It was already unlocked when I bought it, sold unlocked on eBay. I haven't seen any Cin Roms anywhere, unless I didn't realize I was looking at one.

What happens if I try to install it and it screws up my device somehow? Am I out of luck or can it be uninstalled to return to the previous operating system?

Frankly, I am of the mind of, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." I'd like to have the correct WM6 download, just in case something goes wrong on my device, but I don't think I'll actually install it until I have to. It's working just fine and not giving me any problems at all. And being not as familiar with mobiles as I am with computers, I'm a little nervous about trying to rewrite the ROM.
