What a coincidence. Over the weekend I was away and relied on my TreoPro to act as an alarm clock for the first time. On Saturday, the Pro woke me up but it was more the vibrations against the nightstand that woke me up than the sound of the alarm. On Sunday, I turned off the vibrate mode and the phone rang once every 30 seconds for two minutes and that was it. I was disappointed that the alarm wasn't more alarming. I read in another forum that you can put a longer alarm sound in your documents folder to offset the short alarm rings.

With respect to the missing calls, I too experienced that the first two weeks of owning the Pro. I now have a vibrating BT headset (the Jabra 5020, which for the money is quite good) which I carry in my hand or pocket that will vibrate and alert me to a call in lieu of missing a call because I relied on sound notifications. I realize this may not be an attractive workaround but the Pro is not a bug free device and I feel I have to do the best I can since I invested time and money in the device. I can honestly say that I have tweaked the device, added some very nice apps (memmaid, kinoma play, throttlelock, ION Digital Clock, my mobiler [which allows you to control your Pro device from your desktop while its charging/syncing on the craddle] and realvga) that have enhanced the UI of the device. With the exception of memmaid and kinoplay, the apps I mentioned are freeware, although memmaid offers a 15 day trial period which made me purchase the license after only 7 days of use. Memmaid is a great program that keeps your device humming at optimal speeds because it cleans the device of unnecessary files, duplicate notices and "dangling" ram for use. Pre-memmaid, the Pro would slow down after a few days use. Now, with memmaid, I feel the device is snappy everyday and the memory and RAM is at optimal clock speeds. Kinoma play offers kinoma free play for free but I opted to purchase the license. I watched re-runs of the old Incredible Hulk show on my Pro over a long road trip using kinomaplay. I was going to get SPB mobile shell but I hear it doesn't work well with realvga. Realvga definitely enhances your 320 x 320 real estate so that you scroll less. With little tweaks here and there, you can change the today screen to look more like a touch flo device but it will take time and patience to work out the settings.

Overall, I have had the Pro since October 24. My phone has not cracked and I can say I am very pleased with it. The Treo Pro is not the best phone out there but it does the job for me and in the end, that is all you should care about, whether the phone works for YOU.
