I always thought you need a SIM card for Palm treo 680 phone and I thought my phone already had it.

Just today I got a message "Check SIM Card" and I opened up the back I could not find SIM card even though I could see the slot for this. But surprisingly I am able to send and receive calls ? I called up Cingular customer service. They are saying if I am able to talk to them using the phone I should have the SIM card.

Whats happening ? Is SIM card hidden somewhere ? Did somebody steal my SIM card or I never had one.
