| Update to my last post above: My 680 wasn't connecting to the net, and after trying a number of configuration options (discussed in a thread in the 680 board), AT&T support advised me to try a hard reset.
The reset solved my connectivity problem, and it also wiped out the "Custom" connection I had created in order to circumvent a port error and allow me to HotSync--but now the 680 can HotSync without that Custom connection. I have no idea whether or how the two issues (inability to connect to the net, and port error on HotSync) might be connected, but it appears as though the hard reset solved them both. Baffling, but interesting. |
