Grab a program like filez (free) then delete the database from the Treos internal memory - a little messy I know.

Hopefully in the next OS Palm will find it easier to add management features for these sorts of things or maybe combine this list with the call log.

Filez - Easy 'file' management

You might also want to switch on the privacy mode so that incoming SMS don't just display on your screen for all to see when they come in.
