Using Treo 680 on Tmobile

Is anyone using Tzones on Tmobile? I have been told by a Tmoble rep. that Tzones won't work on the Treo 680, however I seeTzones on my connection page. What do you think?

I have had T-Zones for several years. When I got my first Treo (the 680) in December, I popped in my sim, went to preferences and created my own T-Zones using the wap information from my Nokia, and it worked great. The only "glitch" is that periodicaly I have to return to network settings and choose my T-Zones setup because it keeps defaulting to T-Mobile Internet, which does not work. I used the default T-Zones to make a copy I could edit and enter my settings. I have heard of a few folks who did not need to edit the supplied T-Zones, but I have an old sim, so that may be the difference. T-Zones and Treo680 is a great combination for unlimited data at a really cheap price.

I have T-Mobile Web (T-Zones) $5.99/month plan. It works great! The only port open for it is port 8080, which is a huge draw back. T-Mobile Web is soo limited, that some applications like Google Maps and Mundu IM isn't able to transfer data though T-Mobile Web's restrictions. Which is a huge drawback. Currently in the works in finding more information on T-Mobile Total Internet plan. I wonder if it is completely restriction free, or just more ports open or what.

The total internet is restriction free . I've ran google maps on it . Have yet to see a problem . The tzones $5.99 plan was not made for treos . It was made for some of the gsm based phones . Meaning , different data support for different category of phones . Due to the ways that phones consume data . I.E. sidekick has it's own plan , so do blackberry's . But since Treo's and certain other unlocked "unsupported devices " as tmobile likes to call it . Need more data , or variant of delivery . What ever it may be , that's why we get the $19.99 plan . Hope this helps.

When you say "we get the $19.99/month package" do you mean your account pays $19.99 a month and every line associated with that account is able to use it, or that it is $19.99 per month, per phone?

My wife uses TZones on her standard GSM phone for $5.99/mth and I am picking up a 680 shortly. I planned on trying to use TZones as well to save cost, but if it is $19.99/month for the whole account it would then only be $8 more a month.

EDIT: It is per line, a quick call to the local store answered that.
