Got my Verizon T755P with problem - Treo Forum

I ordered a T755P online thru verizon wireless. The stores don't get this until starting Jan 7th and no one IN the stores knows anything about it!

I ordered my phone Monday and received it yesterday,..opened the SEALED box and immediately noticed the battery cover was missing! It was NO WHERE in the box. What WAS in the box (surprise) was an additional $50.00 rebate which will bring my final price to $199.00, (yay)

,..but still no battery cover back plate in sight. I immediately called Verizon Wireless online sales support and explained my problem. The only thing they could do was to have me pay for a 2ND PHONE that they shipped yesterday for delivery today and then I'll return the FIRST phone for full credit. Now I've learned they (Verizon) screwed up and shipped it to my home address instead of the requested work address (from the first order). Are you confused!?

So it looks as though I'll have it rerouted to my business address tomorrow (Thurs) and hope it'll be complete.
My first impression of the new blue-green color was just ok. I would have preferred more choices. I'm sure that so long as it's a good device it'll grow on me and I've already ordered a Seidio hybrid-hard crystal case with the black rubberized backing and holster. I'm hoping that by orderig this new release SO soon (I ordered it the morning it showed up on Verizon wireless' website) that I'll be free from early-release glitches. You would think that considering the WAAAAAAYYYYY TOOO LONG "testing" of this phone by Verizon would almost "guarantee" and teeny, tiny percentage of glitch problems,...we shall see.

Well I JUST got the replacement T755P and all seems perfect!
If only I received the Seidio hybrid case and holster I'd be better,..but alas that is my fault because I was too cheap to pay for faster shipping

Out of the box battery on the 755P shows roughly 80% charge, and it's fully charging now. I've yet to activate this phone until I do a hotsync with my current T650 tonight and then to load the 755P software and switch everything over.
I'll post more info as it occurs.

i have been waiting for this phone for 6 months...i couldnt wait to get it...i finally received it on friday....wow, what a let down...very few differences from my trusty old 650...the 755p is only slightly lighter and slightly slimmer...given the other alternatives out there, this "brick" is unacceptable for me right now...i will be driving to the fed ex drop off site tomorrow...just after Christmas i will do what i have been threatening to do for quite a while....make the switch to another carrier and phone...either the curve or the iphone...i've thought about hanging out and waiting for the centro release on verizon, but i'm just not sure if i can handle another major letdown from palm...this one really took the wind out of my sails
