Can I get my Sprint Treo 650 to work on the Cingular Network

I became very dissastisfied with the Sprint service & have switched to Cingular. I want to be able to use my Treo on their network but have been told that it can't be done. Any thoughts?

whomever told you it can't be done was right. you can't use a cdma phone on a gsm network. it would be cheaper for you to sell your phone and buy a new gsm model than make yours work on cingular's network. sorry for the bad news.

What could I expect to get on eBay for a Sprint Treo 650?

Any idea what I could expect to get for this phone if I posted it on eBay? Is there even a market for it now?

Not sure exactly what you could get for it on eBay, but I know there's still a market. The thing is, don't set your bar too high as some of the service providers are starting to offer them at lower prices as well.

clcoleal,

If it's out of contract you can sell it on ebay. I bought my Sprint 700p from ebay and got a very good deal, - same price as Sprint but without a 2 year contract and a whole bunch of accessories, just 1 month old.

For prices, I would have thought it would have been quicker for you to search ebay than post a question here.

Anyway.... I searched for you and can see they're selling for around $180 - $240 which isn't bad at all. Watch the auctions for a bit...they always go up at the end.

I expect that to drop quite a bit as the 680 comes out soon so get selling!

~ Steph

What about changing a Sprint 700wx over to Verizon? Both are CDMA, I think.....

i think you'd have to terminate service with sprint and get the phone reactivated on verizon's network. i once had a verizon rep tell me that unless the phone was bought for use on their network they wouldn't activate it. that's been some time, though...
