HELP - Verizon just charged me $70 for 8 picture messages

Hi All,

Can anyone please help? I opened up my bill and noticed that I had over $70 in fees due to kb usage. I don't use my 700p for the interent, so I thought it must have been a mistake. I called customer service who provided me with the dates, times, and the charges of my kb usage. We confirmed that they were of picture messages that I sent. The service rep told me that pictures are sent via the internet and that my phone may fail to "hang up" after sending the picture.

Her suggestion was that I purchase the unlimited internet deal for $45 or cancel all picture messages capability on my phone.

She patched me to technical support who was going to "teach" me how to "hang-up" after sending a picture message. The tech said that he would look into this and would call me back tomorrow.

Here's an example of one charge...I sent a 24kb picture and it cost me $20.85.

Has anyone had this problem before?

Any advice would be appreciated.
