Sprint no SMS received until reboot

OK so for some reaosn I no longer receive SMSs unless I reboot my Treo.

Sprint then shuffles all the SMSs that have been waiting in one go and never get another sms until the next reboot.

Am I the only one or have other experienced this too?

I haven't received any in the past few days, so I couldn't tell you if I've been experiencing the same problem. I wonder if it's in fact the reboot that triggers you to receive them or if you just turn the phone off and on would do the same thing. Trying to figure out if it's really the Treo, or something odd with the connection to the Sprint network.

OK this is crazy.. after a hardreset and no synching (so clean machine) it's still doing it.

I gotta call sprint about this.

Ok Sprint says they have a national SMS issue right now with delay occuring in the delivery of some message from different carriers as well as different aggragation zone within their network.

They couldn't really answer me as to why I then get all my messages on a reboot and none there after.

I get all my SMS........BUTTTTTTTTT they come in pairs of two, three, four...of the SAME message!

The Sprint 700wx SMS Patch is designed to improve the performance and reliability of the Palm® Treo™ 700wx Text Messaging (SMS) application on the Sprint Network.


NOTE
This patch is designed specifically for the Sprint Treo 700wx smartphone. All other Treo 700w and 700wx devices do not require this update.
In the event of a Hard Reset on the device, reinstallation of this patch is required.

Press Start . Select Settings.
Select the System tab. Open About. Go to the Phone tab.
Look at the Software Version. What do you see?

To download this file directly to your device Over The Air:

When the download window appears: Ensure that the checkbox "Open file after download" is selected.
Tap on Yes.
Tap OK (or press the Left Softkey) to reset the device and complete activation.

Desktop Download Installation


This update may be installed from your desktop. Follow the directions below to download and install this patch to your phone:

Click the link spnt700wxSMSpatch.cab.
Save the file to the Treo My Documents folder on your desktop.
Connect the 700wx to the synchronization cable.
Sync to install the file on your smartphone.
On the device, press the Start button and select Programs.
Select File Explorer.
Navigate to the My Documents folder and tap on the spnt700wxSMSpatch.cab to start the installation process.
Tap OK (or press the Left Softkey) to install the patch to the device.

NOTE
If you don't have the Treo My Documents folder, open the ActiveSync window on the PC, select Tools, select Options, and then check the Files box. If you have renamed your device from the default "Treo" the download folder would be "Your DeviceName" My Documents.

What to Expect


To verify if this patch is currently installed on the device launch File Explorer on the device and Navigate to the Windows folder. Within the Windows folder there will be a file named SMSBuildPatch. If you have this file, your device already has the software patch installed.
