A few weeks ago, someone has posted about a hidden Verizon Data plan that seems to be too good to be true.

Some are able to get it (though not such an easy task as it may sound) and some are not as successful.

So I would like to try and compile some info to find out what are the cases to be made eligible and not legible for this PDATP Plan.

It will probably help us all if we can compile some info about this to see how we can help each other on this issue.

Compiled Info about Verizon's PDATP Plan

What is the PDATP Plan?

The PDATP Plan is a special bundle that includes the following:

$20 monthly access charge
Unlimited1 monthly kilobyte
800 monthly TXT Message allowance
$.10 per message after allowance
100 monthly PIX-FLIX allowance
$.25 per PIX-FLIX after allowance

What is the promo code for this plan?

Promo code is PDATP.
It shows as UNL PDA 800 TXT 100 on your Verizon's MyAccount page.
It also shows as UNL PDA 800 TXT 100 PIX $20 in your Verizon's Paper Bill.

How do you get the PDATP Plan?

• Call Verizon Customer Service: (800) 922-0204 or *611 on your VZ Mobile Phone.
  (Try to do something while you are making this call (ie: read a book, watch TV, Chase your kitten) as it may take a while)
• Input your 10 digit VerizonWireless Mobile Number. (ie: XXX-XXX-XXXX)
• Press 4 for "Other Options"
• Press 4 again for "Information on Plans & Promotions"
• Talk to Verizon CSR about the PDATP Plan. 2, 3
  (Mention that its the Plan with PDATP code.)
  (Mention its the Unlimited PDA Data, 800TXT, 100PIX Plan)
• Be put on hold a few times so Verizon CSR can get authorization from their managers.
• Finally be asked if you "REALLY" want the PDATP Plan in your account.
• You may then be told that you will receive credit for switching plans.
• Be asked by Verizon CSR if you need any more help.
• Finally hang up and jump for joy for saving an extra $25.99/mth ($623.76/2yrs) and it only took you 30-60 mins of your precious time!
  
  
  2 - "Simply giving the CSR the plan code PDATP may not get you the plan. Give the plan code PDATP and then give the description immediately. They should be able to find it"
  
  3 - "Plans with VZW are regional, and the PDATP plan is in the system but not on the current promo list distributed to some CSR's"

Are there specific Verizon CSR(s) that may be able to help us with this?

A poster has stated the following Verizon CSR was able to help them at their location:

When does this plan expire?

There has been no info on when this plan will expire.
Latest approval date by a poster was on December 26 @ 10:50 PM.

What should this plan look like in my Verizon's MyAcount page?

UNL PDA 800 TXT 100 should show somewhere in your Verizon MyAccount page if you have been approved.

Confirmed that you do NOT need a Corporate/Business Account for this plan.

Do you need to live in a specific location in order to get this plan?

UPDATE: A poster has been told by his VZW Rep that "PDATP plan is offered in our I2K market which is from the middle of NJ and north"
Not fully confirmed yet and we are still trying to figure this out.

Do you need to have been signed to Verizon for a specific amount of time?

There does not seem to be a specific "Loyalty"/Sign-up time to Verizon at this time.
Will add more details as we find them.

Can you get other discounts while being in this plan?

It has been confirmed that you can still get Employee discounts from your job while in this plan.

Can you add additional TXT/PIX allowance while in this plan?

It has been posted that you will void your PDATP Plan if you want to change the TXT/PIX allowance.
You may want to ask the Verizon CSR more about this as we are not fully confirmed on this either.
Options for Additional TXT/PIX still shows in the Verizon MyAccount page however.
Will add more details as we find them.

Does the TXT/PIX include Unlimited IN TXT/PIX-FLIX?

The TXT/PIX allowance does not include UNLIMITED In messaging.
It is specificly 800 TXT and 100 PIX/FLIX for ANY wireless carriers, even if it is to another Verizon customer..

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the group, for the past couple of months I have been just an observer, but after reading this thread I thought it was worth breaking my posting virginity

I have a treo 700p and am currently a Verizon customer. I really enjoy my treo and all of it's features (some I'm still discovering) but the additional 45 dollars a month I have to admit was a bit much, so of course this sparked my interest. I had the unlimited data plan for $45 and an additional text message plan for $10 a month for 500 text messages and unlimited in network text. So you can feel my pain - that was an added $55 onto my bill on top if the voice package, so seeing this for 20 bucks seemed to good to be true (and since I don't text very much seems very reasonable)

Well!!!! it is true . I called Verizon today and switched my plan to this one and the Representative did it without a problem. She told me that it would be effective as of today.

My answers to the questions posted are:

When did you get approved? Today, 12/30 at aprox 1:30pm (ET)

Where are you located as per your Verizon contract? I'm located in NYC, Manhattan

Do you have a Regular (Non-Business/Corporate) or Corporate account? I have a Non-Business Account

Do you have a Family Share Plan? Yes, I have a family share plan, with a total of 4 lines mine is the only one with a data plan, the rest of the family has Razr phones.

Other info you would like to share. I also receive an employee discount - which is applicable for the phone service only on my primary line.

I hope this helps anyone else who is sitting on the fence wondering if it is a real promotion or not, I know when I saw it last night I fiddled around with the idea of weather or not to call but I figured what do I have to loose, or in this case gain, cause now that I've called I'll have an extra 35 bucks in my pocket each month, which will probably wind up going towards HANDBAGS & SHOES (that's a whole other story)

I'm quite jealous actually, we don't have any great offers in the Uk like you get in the US and unlimited data plans don't exsist as far as I know in the Uk..

They were able to find the promo and originally told me they were placing it on my account - then a supervisor denied it saying that the promotion expired in October 2006. I indicated that I understood someone had received it in late December. They apologized and said they could still not give it to me though they did offer to credit my next bill for one month of unlimited data. Sigh . . .

2. Where are you located as per your Verizon contract?
Leawood, KS . . . and VERY close to the Sprint/Nextel campus which didn't seem to have any impact on Verizon, although the Verizon CSR was very, very nice and tried his best to help me.

I now own a Teo 700w on VZW. Tried to get the plan but was shot down a few times over the last few days. The phone is setup in Baltimore area but I am posting right now from NY

1. What did the Verizon CSR tell you why you cannot have this plan?
1st try in Baltimore: You must have a corp. account. 2nd try in NY: We don't offer that anymore. Anyone who has it got it during promo 3rd try in NY: Very helpful CSR looked and looked then transferred me to someone else who didnt really have a clue.

2. Where are you located as per your Verizon contract?

Wow. Was that tone really necessary? Remember that these people are looking for a deal like anyone else, anywhere else. If you found something that you used, and you could get it for cheaper, wouldn't you try to get it? Regardless of how personally annoying it is to you, it will continue. Its just a simple fact. People are out there reading this information, and some claim to have succeeded it applying it. Others will try and follow suit. As a customer service employee you should understand that things like this will happen. Take a few deep breaths, and take the rest in stride.
