Unhappy Problem with IE

So, for the last couple days I've had a problem with Internet Explorer. When I open it, the tool bar isn't there (the web is "full screen"), so I can't get to any options/address bar/favorites etc. I can't figure out how to undo this!!

Also, does anyone else have the problem that it takes FOREVER to type something into the address bar? When I type something, it takes about 30 seconds for EACH letter to appear before I can finally hit enter and get the page to load. It's extremely annoying.

To get out of full screen, tap and hold anywhere on the displayed page (that won't link you to something else). A pop up menu will appear giving you 7 options. One of them is Full Screen. If you are in Full Screen mode there will be a check mark next to it, simply tap Full Screen and your Treo will go back to small screen. Your tool bar etc. will be at the bottom again. If you need to go back to full screen, tap Menu>View>Full Screen.
I'm not sure why it takes so long between letters. I've never experienced that problem. Try a soft reset. As I mentioned in several posts, a soft reset cures a lot of problems on the Treo Pro.
I would also suggest taking a look at the new Opera 10 Mobile Browser. I installed it 2 days ago and really like it. Simple, fast, renders sites real nice. Hope this helps.
Another thought on slow entry into IE address. Make sure you have shut down unused apps. I don't know how familiar you are with WM devices but apps you open keep running in the background even after you exit them. Too many open and the Treo will grind to a slow crawl. To close unused apps you can do one of two things. 1. Hold the OK key down for a few seconds which will open Task Manager. In this screen you can select which apps to close. 2. Open start menu, settings, system then Task Manager. From there do the same procedure. Something I do as an extra to free up more RAM is a soft reset after having multiple apps open. Some apps apparently leave a few files in RAM even after being closed. A soft reset removes these files. I have freed up as much as 3 or 4 MB of RAM. This may help with your address input speed for IE. Let us know it goes

a quick question, fatyank, if I may :-)
I use skyfire, and its ok, probably because at my pc and laptop I use firefox.... but do you think opera is better (or any other)? I like skyfire cause its pretty small and render fast, but it has problem with playing sounds within the pages....
I want an opinion from someone smart ;-)

I'll keep looking for someone smart but in the mean time let me try and answer . I have limited experience with Skyfire but I do prefer Opera because the web pages seem to load faster and are clearer. I am using Internet Explore 6 on my laptop right now. My business applications limit my choice but that should be changing in the coming months. IE on my Treo Pro is adequate but Opera really outperforms it quite easily. I found zooming in Skyfire a little awkward as opposed to the new Opera 10 but nothing bad.
Honestly the decision is up to each individual because everyone uses the internet on their device for different reasons so what may be a great feature for one person may suck for another. I'm not trying to put you off, I just am saying, that is the reality of the web browsers and for that matter ANY features on ANY device. It is also the beauty of so many choices when it comes to which device you want. I suggest you download and install both Skyfire and Opera then try opening the same web pages (the ones you visit most) with each browser and see which one suits your needs the best. Hope this helped. Let us know how it goes.

Yes, I've tried this, it doesn't work. The internet otherwise works fine (pages load appropriately, etc). I just can't seem to type anything into the address bar with any reasonable speed. It's quite annoying.

Other than that, I love my Treo.

Amy, have you tried a different browser? Opera, skyfire? It wouldn't hurt, I guess....

On my Tilt2, Opera 9.5 is great! When I tried it on my Treo Pro, I hated it. Maybe it's the difference in screen size. My favorite is Iris Browser, which is no longer being developed for WM since RIM (Blackberry) bought the company. But copies of the last WM version (1.1.9) are still downloadable from various places. I think I got mine here or at WMExperts. And they were pretty far along in development, so it's a highly usable browser.
