![]() | What's Gonna Happen To The TREO??? I've been wondering lately what's going to happen with the Treo. Will it ever be seen again (new models of course)?? With Palm announcing they will no longer be making WM Treos and put their efforts into the Pre is the Treo Pro the last of the breed?? ![]() ![]() ![]() A lot of friends are getting HTC devices which are very nice but bulky. I like the Pre but need WM6.1 or better because of business requirements. Don't get me started on the PIXI(Horrible name!!!). Does anyone think there will be a WM6.5 upgrade for the TREO Pro? Sadly I believe we are going to be forgotten like Coleco Vision or Atari. Any thoughts in this area??![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | There are dozens of WM phone manufacturers. If you don't like any of HTCs offerings, there are other offerings. Though I do agree that Palm should have kept their WM offerings as well. I have a feeling there will be a revival of the Treo name at some point, but not for a while. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Agreed kraski and LL I suspect that treo name is going to be dead The treo form factor sort of lives on in the pixi (agreed its a horrible name) I would love to see a treo pro sized device with either webos or winmob6 or 7 without a physical keyboard but an on screen keyboard and a 3.5 inch screen which could fit in the pro's size and/or a slider version. The droid shows that you can have a device the thickness of the pro with a slider. But I suspect that its not going to happen. I would second the choice of a touch pro 2 device I havent yet palyed with the tilt 2 or the pure but I plan to do so soon. I may try to wait for a windows 7 phone next year or maybe not. The HD2 on ATT might be nice but it appears headed to TMob . Not going to switch there even before their service outage issues last week. And unless ATT picks it up the cost I think will be too high for me unless I can scarf a deal on ebay which wont happen for a while. As far as being forgotten I suspect that Plam has kissed all us WM users bye bye |

![]() | Don't misunderstand me, I like the Touch Pro 2 and when I can purchase it for a sensible price that will probably be my next move. Hopefully it will have WM6.5 or even 7 by then ![]() I believe we will see the Treo with Web OS on it in the future although the PIXI seems to already be there. I will miss how the Treo Pro does everything well but the larger screen and keyboard will be welcome. My maturing eyes need that little bit extra. When I do switch I'll keep my Pro as I still have my Treo 270 and Handspring Visor stashed away in a drawer. Also my 800W. I'm not dumping it tomorrow, just looking ahead. |

Got a great deal on the Tilt 2, it comes with WM 6.5 & the screen's big enough for both our eyes. ![]() The Pixi falls short of the Treo Pro in a lot of ways. I'll wait before I consider a Web OS device. Palm's gotta do a lot better than the Pre or the Pixi to tempt me. | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The Walmart superscenters here in Ft Smith finally has the pre. It seems small compared to the pure and tilt2. Amd too light for me.The pixi without a qwerty keybiard and like a 3.5" screen might be okay. Dell is puting out an android 3.5 screen with 2.0 and AT frequencies for 3G FCC has already aproved. That might be what I end up with. Waiting to see what happens there. Still up in the air! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | well I am looking but not planning on taking the plunge for at least a couple of months. I am curious about android and dells pocket pc offerings were really top of the line. So thats intriguing as are the tilt 2 and even the pure but I am also thinking of waiting and seeing what the HD2 does in terms of carrier (if its tmo its no go for me) |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Well dear friends, What is going to happen to our forum when we all get something other than Palm? I would miss all you guys too much to abandon the forum altogether. So, what is going to happen? Can we still have Treonauts sans Treos? ![]() I love my Treo Pro, (who is still nameless BTW) and am sorry to be abandoned by Palm. I hope we will still all stick together so at least we can help the old Treo users a bit.I guess in the words of some immortal bard or other: "It ain't over 'til it's over" |
