![]() | Another Car Charger Question After popping a few fuses in my car with a cheapo eBay job, I did a search and read the car charger threads. I understand there is an issue with non-OEM car chargers and I need one that is rated at 5.5v/1000mA. But my question is this: Does cell company matter? An OEM micro-USB charger from Verizon or Sprint would work on any Treo Pro, right? I'm thinking that would be a good way to go, as many of the chargers I'm finding on-line don't list all the stats. Is this a safe assumption? Thanks |

![]() | I've been using the Palm Charger. I got it free with the phone (purchased thru corporate sales) however I would gladly have paid the $29 for it. It is small and powerful. I also charge my Ipod Touch using the same charger with the IPod cable of course. This also works with the AC wall charger. There are alternatives. Boxwave sells a multi adapter that works nice. It's designed to plug into the wall and/or your car lighter, multi voltage too. You will still need a USB cable so you can use the one that came with the phone. SPE sells some nice items, you might want to check them out also. The carrier should not make any difference as electricity can't tell what company you bought the phone from. The main concern is correct voltage/amperage to charge properly. In this case you really don't want to take a chance of frying the phone so I would go with the OEM. It may be a few dollars more but you have peace of mind knowing if something does go wrong you were using the manufacturer recommended charger. It puts you in a better position to get them to fix it under warranty. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I am using a motorola micro usb car charger which works very well I got it at Sams Club. I purchased a usb car charger body and a micro usb sync and charge cable but it does not charge the pro at all. the cable works fine but not with the car charger body. They were purchased here at the treonauts store. Not sure what the problem is but needed a car charger that worked so tried the motorola and it works. |
