![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well the best way would be to sync your contacts to Outlook, rather than Palm Desktop (if you're not already syncing to Outlook). Then sync from Outlook the the WM Treo. |

![]() | What he said. I do this on an on-going basis as I often swap between a PalmOS 680 and a WM5 HTC Star Trek. I sync both to Outlook and have never had any sync issues with the PIM data.

![]() | The easiest way to transfer information from a palm OS using palm desktop to a windows mobile device without hotsyncing is PocketCopy by Chapura. Though it will cost you $24.95 but for me it's worth the amount. You can work 2 devices in 1 computer, palm OS device and windows mobile without the burden of syncing and less errors. for example: Centro and 850 or 800w together. here's the link: Copy Palm Desktop data into Outlook Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Notes with PocketCopy.

![]() | Don't get my Treo Pro until Tuesday so I can't check for myself. But as I read this thread it appears that Palm does not have a windows version of its Desktop that will sync directly with WM6.1, is that correct? Although I have used Windows on my PC for many years now, I still don't like it. I use FireFox and ThunderBird for my web browser and email respectlively. Are there any options to Outlook and/or ActiveSync? |

Question 1 Correct.Palm desktop is not available in a windows mobile version. Q 2 There are many thiord party options to outlook as far as PIMs Theres Agendus Pocket Informant Pocket Fusion on and on and on as far as browswr theres a new version of Opera and theres opera lite and others out there. You can use active sync or chapura has synching software for wm theres goosync and otheres out there that can be used. My personal opinion is that active snc works well in its current version. I was very leery about switching to the 750 because of major long term headaches with version 3.x as with my earlier pocket pcs. It was a major pita but having migrated to the 750 I am glad I did I have not had anywhere near the problems I had with earlier versions of as. My advice would be to try outlook and active sync first If you dont like them you can try slomething else. Last edited by jfa02; 10-03-2008 at 11:21 AM. Reason: forgot to add my last thought | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Agreed jfa. Last I heard there was a project working on syncing from Thunderbird/Sunbird/ (Email, Email and Callendar), but I haven't been keeping up. Edit, there's a paid app called BirdieSync that allows for syncing Thunderbird content to WM. See here |

![]() | Thanks jfa02 and LotusLord. Forgot to subscribe to the thread and just now see your replies. As I mentioned in another thread I got my Pro a day early. I like it! I am not familiar with Outlook. My office uses GroupWise. I'll look at the alternatives you suggest as well as others in this thread. ehw |
