How do I setup the speed dial in my car? - Treo Forum

When I use the bluetooth connection on my Treo 800w in my car, instead of grabbing my speed dial numbers it grabs my entire address book (2,500 names). My old Palm OS version used to just grab my speed dial numbers.

Anyone figure out a workaround on this? I'm sure it's more of a Windows vs. Palm OS issue than anything.

not sure what the problem is bosstone I am not sure whether its something built into the 800w or windows vs palm or a problem with BT with your device or what but it sounds like a significant issue I dont really use speeddial so I dont have a clue. Let us know if you figure it out on your own I am sure that somebody here who uses speeddial will be along soon to help you out.

On my old 650, when the bluetooth picked up my phone and downloaded the phonebook, it only downloaded the assigned speed dial contacts, not the whole address book.

On my new 800, it downloads the entire address book which is useless.

I simply need to know how to tell the car to only grab the speed dial numbers and not the whole address book.

This is presumably done on the phone, not the car, since the car has no options.

Any ideas?

Welcome to Treonauts bosstone!
This is more of a query than an answer, but,
can't you just go to menu from today screen, to speed dial options, and use the contacts to assign a number? Then use the THB setting to allow car to answer calls?
(On 700wx we have a setting called THB. to allow car calls.)
