Exclamation "No GPS Device" TomTom Nav 6 , Treo 800w

I have successfully installed tom tom nav 6 on to my 800w. Now the thing stoping me from using it is " No GPS Device. " I did all my settings with COM0 like everything else . Nothing. And some times the com options are limited and sometimes there not. I looked everywhere on Google and i have yet to find any one ask this question. It would be totally neat to get this to work. Thanks to any one who can help.

" Under Settings, System, External GPS, " I don't have that. . I have "Under Settings, System, GPS Manager. " And my com port options are 0 and 7 for the program. For the hardware, It is " Internal GPS " . It works fine with google maps and Sprints outdated telenav. No bluetooth gps. And another annoying thing is that since tomtom can't find a gps device, It wants to do a restart and i cant shut tomtom down in spb mo shell task man.

Not sure if this is any help. But my settings are currently:

Other NMEA GPS receiver
COM 4
Baud Rate 9600.

Sorry if this is too late. Was just reading through other threads

That should do it. One of the original posts I saw on the same issue for the Treo Pro had those settings, but a higher baud rate, so that's what I set my TP at. I've since then seen that 9600 is sufficient. But setting to allow a higher baud rate shouldn't hurt anything. The OP will need to check his manual for which com port he needs to use for the 800w.

If the OP uses your settings, then he should be almost ok. I've seen a lot of threads about TomTom 6 & 7 not waking up/turning on the GPS unit on the Treo Pro. The solution is to run something that does, before running TT6 or TT7. Either some of the sat finder programs will do that or GPStoday will, too. I'm suspecting there's a similar issue with the 800w, with the same solution.

And, like you, I hope we've responded soon enough to benefit the OP.
