Treo 755 p No Speaker phone, Very Low Ringing sound.

I got a treo 755p, and it work great, it is not in too bad of condition, and i have it hooked up to my service right now,

i have been using it for about a month now, with a very low ringing tone, and no speaker phone.

i am wondering if anyone here can lead me in the right direction on how i go about fixing this.

the phone is awesome. and i have all my numbers in it allready.

i just would love to have speaker phone and a load ring, so that i can put some ring tones on.

also, i belive the person who had the phone before me, had a bluetooth password and i have no way of finding out what that is, how do it reset it?

thanks in advance!

Welcome to Treonauts, Avlove! Several questions:

Do you have any RingTone Manager apps on your phone?
Do you have any other Phone apps on your phone?

I would recommend doing a warm reset and then going into your sounds and testing the sound quality of your built in MP3s. Of course, make sure the volume is turned up. If the volume is still poor, then it is likely not a software conflict issue as the questions above were leading to, but rather a hardware issue. VolumeCare from GoTreoSoftware may be a possible solution as well.

I can't help you with the BT issue, as I never even knew you could password protect your BT.

And if the warm reset doesn't do it for you, the hard reset ought to fix whatever is ailing you, unless there's a hardware problem. You never know when you get a used device. A hard reset will erase everything on the device except for the internal ROM, and it will put your Treo in factory condition from a software point of view. It will also erase all your data. But it should fix the bluetooth password issue (I also didn't know there was such a thing).

Good luck!

Please take a look at the Treo user's guide, which explains soft, warm, and hard resets, as well as lots of other information. You can find it here: http://www.palm.com/us/support/handb...psprint_ug.pdf.

ok i did a soft reset and it did not work,

so i did a hard reset and it did not work for the speakr problem...

but it did fix the blue tooth problem, so thats one good thing, besides it is better for me to have it reset so that it is more like "my phone" insted of the "guys before me's phone"

except now i gotta renter all my numbers and all that good stuyff, which i am in the process of doing...

i hope now i am aboe to get hotsync to connect to my pc...

i dont have no cables or anything like that... so what is the best way for me to connect my pc and treo 755p???

also, does anyone have a link where i can buy my speakerphone speaker and ringer speaker for a treo 755p, is it easy to replace???

thanks for the help guys i really appricate it!

You can buy a sync cable from Treonauts. You should also consider purchasing an SD card (Mini for 755p), so that you can back up your device regularly. Once you get the card, you can download a freeware backup program (so that if you have problems in the future, you don't have to lose everything you've entered), called NVbackup that works very well. Not sure what you're talking about with speaker phones. Have you tried the trial of VolumeCare? You can download it from Treonauts as well. If you decide you like it, you can purchase it for 20% off with the discount code: "BESTSELLERS"

If the speaker needs to be replaced, which seems likely at this point, you're probably into soldering and so forth. If you were with Sprint, I would suggest you take it to a Sprint repair facility (certain stores are designated as repair facilities). You may still be able to get them to work on it even if you're not a Sprint customer. Verizon must also have something similar.

Not sure about other carriers. You could try Palm customer service--they will probably allow you to mail your device to them and have them fix it.

For spare parts, if you want to do the repair yourself, perhaps you could find a dead Treo on Ebay for cheap--it would likely have a good speaker.
