Yahoo basic email setup with versamail - Treo Forum

Hi Everyone

I just found out how to use basic yahoo mail with IMAP setup. i did up date my versamail to the 4.0 that runs on the centro's and it runs great !!! Here is the setup i found.

IMAP:

user name with out @yahoo.com

in coming mail: imap.mail.yahoo.com port: 143 no SSL checked.

out going mail: smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com port: 25 no SSL checked, put check in ESMTP with user name and password.

Just thought i would share this, i have been loooking to use my basic yahoo account with pop or imap and i found it with imap. works great. Maybe you guys already knew this and im a little bit slow, lol. But i did not see this on the site so i thought i would add it so the people that have basic yahoo know how to set it up. I dont think there is a POP setup i could not find but would like to know if there is.

To get POP access you need to pay. It really doesn't make any sense since IMO, IMAP is far superior.

It has been discussed in other places in this forum, but it's been a while, so it doesn't hurt to bring it up again.

I was teasing you Nite. Please don't take offense. I think its great you want to pass on info. You might try the search feature to see if there is a thread that already has the info you want to post. If not, then that is really when you'll get thanked.
