Third party apps, make phone reset

Hello, I have a problem with third party applications. Every time I click any application that did not come with the phone originally, it resets the phone. It immediately goes to the orange palm.

Anyone have any ideas on what is going on?

Welcome to Treonauts, Phil!!!!!!!! I'm a little lost on the "orange Palm" portion. First thing I would try is a warm reset followed by a soft reset as that sometimes takes care of software conflicts (which is what it sounds like you have). You also might download a trial of SafeGuard and let it help you to figure out what is actually causing the resets, then you can either delete it or quarantine it. If those suggestions don't work, then please do tell us what apps you have and we'll see if we can help you.

Thanks for your quick reply.

The applications I have were running fine until yesterday. They are as follows:

1. Bluefire IPSec VPN
2. Mundu Instant Messenger
3. A uninstall program ( not sure what it is, cant open it to find out.)

I am new to Palm, have always had a windows mobile. Can you define "Warm Reset" and "Soft Reset"

Thanks

I'm confused as to why you don't know what it is. Did you install it? Sounds like at least part of your problem might be with this app, especially since it won't open.

Sound advice, for future purposes: NEVER install anything if you're not sure what it is or does. I think most (or at least some) of us have learned that the hard way at some point.

You may have moved over incompatible apps from your previous device. in the user guide there is a section on migrating from other os devices which needs to be followed also if you were migrating from even an earlier palm device it might not be totally compatible with a newer palm os and some apps may be flakey which is waht you have now.

jfa got me to thinking. Make sure your version of Mundu is the beta build (version 4.1). 4.0 will not work on the 755p.

First off, welcome to Treonauts. Second, everyone here has hit the points I was going write. What was the last thing you did on that Treo before you started to have these resets issues? IF it was that uninstall program, then that might be your issue (as others have stated)

I would suggest removing your last application then giving your Treo a go. If that helps, then you know what your issue is. Next, like stu said, make sure that Mundu is the Beta version. If after doing those things the problems don't go away, you will/may have to resort to a Hard Reset. I believe stu gave you the link to the resets already.
