![]() | Over Heating ?? Hi Everyone I was charging my 755p with my USB cable, and after the charging was done about 10 minutes later the phone started to feel very warm and the arrows above the volume bars where green the whole time. Not sure what was going on ,but after about 5 more minutes i took the battery out and put it back in and it was fine. Does anyone know what might have happened. Is there away i can see if there are any programs running in the back ground or running at all??? This is really worry me and im not sure it is safe, please help. thanx ![]() |

![]() | I would remove the battery IMMEDIATELY if it was VERY warm. The usb cable is a trickle charge thus shouldn't cause it to heat too much If the arrows were on the screen during that time then it was using data which woulkd cause generation of heat.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | There are a number of things that can cause it. The Sprint updater bug can cause the phone to link to data and hang there causing the battery to heat up. I changed my email password at work and forgot to change it on my Chatteremail, and that caused Chatter to keep attempting to reconnect, which heated up the battery. Another time I was playing PTunes for about four hours and the battery got very hot. The solution is to do, just what you did, which is to take the battery out, let it cool down and then plug it back in. Generally that is enough both to cool the battery and to stop whatever was causing the battery to get hot in the first place. As for finding what programs are running in the background, I know of three apps that will tell you that: Palm Internals (freeware), TealScan, and SafeGuard. SafeGuard tells you the easiest way, the other two give you more of the specific files that are running in the background that you may, or may not be able to discern what app they are related too. By the way, I think that all three of those apps are must-have apps for system health and maintenance. Stu |
