newbie...e-mail questions?

Hi Everybody,
I finally have my Treo 755p set up with software that I like and that works well together : - ). A few e-mail questions-I've never had e-mail anywhere except on my computer. A little info that might help-Verizon is my carrier, optonline.net is my pop and windows xp is my operating system.

1) can I download/look at e-mail from my Treo 755p and still see it later on my computer?
2) If I do get it on my Treo, do I have to hotsync before I can what I downloaded to the treo on my computer?
3) Does using one system (computer vs. Treo) exclude the other?

Thanks in advance for all your help. As you probably have guessed from my questions, e-mail setup/comprehension isn't one of my strong points.

Hi Tmord,

Let me see if I can answer your questions:

1) Yes, you can look at email in both places. You have to be careful of your settings on your Treo as they can with certain email servers, leave your email in the read folder. I use ChatterEmail and if I read a message I want to leave as new, I simply mark it as unread.

2) If you have a data plan with your carrier, there is no need to hotsync email. If you don't have a data plan, you can either consider an email app that has its own servers (such as Goodlink), which are mainly business oriented, or just skip email features on your phone.

3) Not at all. You can use both. See 1) above.
