Installing to SD card - Treo Forum

i have tried using the install tool to install to the card, but the program gets installed to my phone instead. Is there any way to make it install on the card where i have 4Gb of space?

Red,

There are several ways, but first lets make sure your desktop is working correctly. When you open the quick sync or sync tool (depending on whish desktop version you're using), you should have an option to assign it to an alternate place. This is where you ordinarily assign it to the card. If that is not working properly, then you may need to reinstall the desktop application. In any event, it is not that difficult to switch apps between the Treo and the card. If you have a third party launcher, they will do it for you. You can also get the freeware FileZ, which is a file manager, and move it to the card that way. You can also use a hardware card reader, which is where I think Brandon was going, and you can also use either of two third party applications called Card Reader and Softick Export II. These two applications serve to make your card be read as a USB device by your computer (with a sync cable hook up). Then you can merely drop the file into the approriate file on the card (same with a hardware card reader). Hope that helps.

I used to use PowerRun on my Treo 650 to move apps from main memory to the SD Card, seemed to work better that way then installing directly to the card.
