![]() | Treo vs. Brick...ouch I was rushing out the door yesterday and dropped the screen on a corner of a brick step on my front porch. Screen is toast. But amazingly the phone works like a champ...and I held numerous conversations the rest of the day. The woman was upset because she thought I was ignoring her text messages, until I had a chance to explain. Fortunately I know the key sequences to dial my speed dials and unlock the Treo. But thank God for the insurance from Sprint! On my way to the store to replace it. Still...ouch.

![]() | Let us know how it goes. I've got the insurance on my phone too, but have been debating as to what to do with a key that will not function equally. I'm sort of use to pushing it hard and paying attention but it does need to be fixed. Unfortunately I don't know if the $50 (am I right about that) deductible is worth getting my 700p fix ... or if I should just wait? I wonder if they couldn't fix the key if they could be talked into a $50 exchange for a 755p? ![]() |

![]() | I saw the pics of this you posted over on TC. You haven't been able to get to the store yet? I sure hope the insurance swap goes well! |

![]() | Well to swap it, you don't go to a store...you call Assurion and they do it all over the phone...they will send me a new one, not a refurbished one...and it should be here Tuesday.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Whoa! Before you guys go paying listen. If you go to Sprint and they can't fix it, they will give you a replacement. However, if you dropped it and broke it, they will normally refer you to the insurance company. I have a buddy who works at the service department. I took my 700P because the ear piece was not sounding correctly. They replaced it for a 755P not extra charge. However, he said that if I had dropped it, they would have told me to get with my insurance company. Now, you may get a good rep and get it replaced no problem. RichC They will fix the KB at no charge. Take it and have them replace it. Don't call assurion because they will then charge you the $50. |

![]() | Well, an update here...I ordered the replacement Friday and it arrived Tuesday, right on time...an easy set up with Sprint and I was back in business. They also sent me a return envelope for the old Treo and battery. They didn't want the cables, manuals, etc., so now I have two Treo boxes. Go figure. But I was very impressed with how fast it all got done. The $50 goes to my next bill. Done. I like it.

![]() ![]() | Nice one, always glad to hear when someone has a smooth experience, makes a change. Most people only post when something is going wrong so it's easy to get a distorted view of things. ~ Steph
