I just joined! What ever happened to Palm's built-in expense program? - Treo Forum

Just got my first Treo, and I've got all the bugs our thus far. I'm a travelling salesman, and I used to use the built in Palm expense program on a Tungsten. It was the best and easiest expense program in the world!

Now I upgraded to a Treo 755p, and the program is gone...both from my Palm desktop and the Treo 755p. My previous expenses are all gone too...just in time to dash any hopes of a good tax return for once.

My question: Is there any way of finding the same program from the third party software company that made it?

jrossodi, welcome to treonauts. Have you checked out Pocket Quicken, or AutoFile Plus or Expense Log Pro? I think they all have free trials. Maybe you will find one of them to your liking. (check the store here, that is where I saw them )

I'm wondering if Expense Pro is the same program. The screen shots look very similar. The old program was so simple and accurate, that I'm going to try to find out who wrote it, and if it's available for purchase.

I'm trying to avoid an expense program that needs to link up with Microsoft Excel. I want a self-contained program.

I'll check out your suggestions, and I may download a free trial of Expense Pro when I get back to the office and am able to sync.

actually, i have the necessary files needed to install the original expense and note pad apps on my 650. i see no reason it wouldn't work on a 755.

I can get the notepad app to work by using Filez to send Note Pad and Note Pad_enUS to the 755p from an old Zire21, but if I copy Expense and Expense+enUS to the unit it crashes my treo as soon as I try to put in a new item. Wondering if I possibly didn't add a file that is required for it to work... or if it will work at all.

why dont you just pm brandon and get his file and see if it works the zire 21 version may be too old to be compatible with your device.

you have to move Expense_enUS.prc first and then Expense.prc to internal memory. very important, otherwise you'll crash your unit, as you've seen. files are attached. i am not responsible for you jacking up your phone.
