![]() | Installing .prc??? Am I just stoopid, or is it impossible to install .prc based software on a 755p/AT&T? I have put a couple programs on that use a .cab installer, but I can't do a .prc. I tried using the Palm desktop, and it sends the file to the Treo. But it puts the file in the My Documents file. It doesn't recognize a file association when I click on it... Tx |

![]() | hello Tx, I've had several palm OS devices, but I don't remember there being a my documents folder. are you sure that it isn't a 750w? if not, .prc files for the most part don't have to be installed. they're palm's version of .exe edit: you were able to install .cab files right? that does sound like windows mobile... I use both palm os and windows mobile. what program(s) are you trying to use and/or what are you trying to do and i'll try to help you find what the WM analogue is. ![]() Last edited by contradude; 02-28-2008 at 08:17 AM. |

![]() ![]() | Most software for Palm OS are .prc based, so a simply dbl click of the file should put it into the Palm Quick Install app and will stay there until you HotSync the Treo. It may be that the copy of the file is in your My Document folder because that's your default location for downloading. An addition copy will end up in your Palm/username/Backup folder.

![]() ![]() | contradude is right. ATT offers the Centro, 680 (both Palm OS) and 750 (Windows Mobile) so maybe you have the 750w? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm very confused because there is no 755p for at&t. If you have the 750, which is a windows mobile device, you can't install Palm OS apps. Palm Desktop is for Palm OS, where ActiveSync is for Windows Mobile, so that also won't work. Let us know what device it is you have and we can work you through it. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | I dont think its an assumption that hes got a 750 for ATt they dont have a 755 for palm on att that anybody has mentioned. And can files dont install on palm os and prc's dont install on wm. Its logic not assumption. Maybe! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well if AT&T does not have a 755p, it stands to reason why he is having trouble installing a prc file on it. (That's a joke, in case you didn't catch it). |

![]() | OK thanks. The device has "palm" written in the upper left of the face. "at&t" written on the upper right. This is a corporate issued phone... I've installed google maps, and hanDbase. But I think you are all correct...I think it has to Windows Mobile... Where can I find sonething similar to Callrec? Tx |
